Summer Show

Hot off the press, the review of our main event of the year, the Summer Show.

ree

Despite over half an inch of heavy rain overnight on Friday which persisted through Saturday morning, we had a tremendous number of quality entries in the different categories and a record number of visitors in the afternoon to this most British of summer events. Thank you to everyone who turned out, as well as to Shirley Holland and her hardworking team who organised the Show. The hall looked so beautiful with all the colourful exhibits and smelt lovely with the scent wafting across from the roses: the Friends of the Primary School were busy dishing out large quantities of tea and cake - it was just as a summer's afternoon should be!

Congratulations to the winners in all the different classes. Our prompting of villagers to look around and see what they could enter seemed to have paid dividends as once again we had lots of new names and first-time winners on the trophies: 7 in total this year, a brilliant result. We hope you'll try again next year!
